The 2010 SMRA Spring Fever Series results are up!  WOO HOO!!!  Thanks to all that supported your sport!  As usual, please check your spelling and race number.  In case there is a question...J= Jacket,  T= trophy and A= attendance award.  I will be calling the Jacket winners this week for your size.  If you don't hear from me, that means I don't have an updated number so PLEASE call ME!  It always takes a month or more to buy prizes, jackets and trophies so I will let everyone know when the awards are ready.  Keep your eyes on this site.   We are getting the Nevada State Championship Series together and will announce it in a month or so.  If you have any questions....feel free to call any officer OR Judy at 775-530-8226 (after 7pm) or at home 775-423-8226 anytime.  As always, the entire Board of SMRA thanks you and your families for your continued dedication and support!

As most of you already know, Fernley was snowed out and the first race of our series is the Hawthorne race on 2-27 & 28.  We have posted the results and as usual...please check your name and number for correct spelling.  We have also corrected the schedule to reflect the date changes.

The results of our N. Nevada Championship Series are posted.  Please make sure your name is spelled right.  If changes are needed, please call Judy at 775-530-8226 ASAP!  All of the clubs and promoters would like to thank all the riders that participated in the series.  Times are tough and the support shown to SMRA was awesome!  You will be hearing about our "Spring Series" just as soon as we thaw out!!!  We will be calling "jacket" winners for sizes.  If you don't hear from us in a week, it means we don't have the correct number to reach you.  Please call Judy.  Oh, by the way,  "T" means trophy, "J" means Jacket and "C" means we are giving all the riders that made all 8 races a cool chair.  We normally give out awards at the beginning of the next series.  It takes a while to budget the prize money to get you riders as much as possible!

Our Northern Nevada State Championship series starts 8-30-09.  If you were bumped or requested a new card, they will be at signup on Saturday.  Also regarding points;  if you are a beginner you may bump yourself when you feel ready..or earn 15 points.  Judy will have all of the points with her in Fernley in case you are considering going up a class.  If you are a "fast Junior" and want to be considered for advancement please check with her, and our Referee will help make the decision.  Judy will be at the track Friday with all the points so you can call her cell if needed.  530-8226 Thanks !   The whole SMRA Board is looking forward to seeing "what ya got" this year!!!

The Spring Blow Out Series results have been posted.  Congratulations to the winners.  If you have a "T" by your name, it means a trophy.  All first place "T" winners will be contacted for jacket size. If you don't get called within a week, that means I have the wrong number for you so please call me at 775-423-8226.  If you have an "A" next to your name, that means you attended all the races and will get something cool...we are working on the budget for the series. It takes a few weeks to buy all the awards and spend every cent on you riders... so bear with us.  Awards will arrive soon!!    We want to thank each and every one of you for your support!  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call.  Remember, this is your organization and we are here to serve you!

I have posted the bumped riders and will have all of the new rider cards, the bumped rider cards and the replacement cards with me in Winnemucca this weekend.  For those of you that can't make it, I will mail them to you on Monday.  Sure hope to see you there.........the track is awesome and worth the trip.  As usual, if you have any questions our SMRA Board of Directors is here to serve you!

We want to clarify a question regarding the 85cc class and the 150 4strokes.  At the last series we ran the 150 4strokes (big and small wheel) with the 85cc class.  Our rule book has been modified to reflect this rider requested change.  A 150cc 4stroke bike, regardless of wheel size, can now legally run with the 85cc class, in any ability class.  If you still have any questions please call or email.

The SMRA Board of Directors and the 2008 Championship Series Promoters want to thank each and every one of you for your support.  To the ones that made all the races, we commend you on your effort.  With today's economy we know some of you made sacrifices.  To the riders that made just a few of the races, we thank you too!  I posted the award winners.  Please watch this space for additional news regarding awards.  We will keep you posted!  Again, we thank all of you for your efforts.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact

Dear Racer;

After much discussion and thought, the SMRA Officers and Promoters Board have decided on a rule change that we believe will benefit the racers and promoters in our area.

Starting with the SMRA sanctioned “Northern Nevada State Moto-X Championship Series 2008”; the 25+ class will change to the 20+ class.  This will change the 25+ beginner to 20+ Beginner, the 25+ Junior to 20+ Junior and the 25+ Intermediate to 20+ Intermediate.  These classes will remain “sportsman” classes and bump points are earned in both classes.  A sportsman rider may NOT drop down a class in the 20+ class.

The other rule change affects the Open Sportsman/Schoolboy class.  The new rule will change to read “up to 19 year’s old, big bikes only (125cc minimum), no beginners.”  Since this class is open to Juniors and Intermediate riders only, there are no bump points given.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

The revised rule book is now online.

SEE YOU AT THE STARTING GATE

What is SMRA ?

SMRA is a non-profit sanctioning body.  All officers of SMRA are volunteer positions.  SMRA's function is to coordinate sanctioned MX events with SMRA promoters.

Other functions at SMRA include keeping track of points for riders.  Riders are advanced to higher classes when they earn the required amount of racing points.  SMRA sets rules and regulations and they are followed by the riders and promoters at our events.  Our rules are always subject change to keep up with the times.

SMRA does not charge a promoter fee but does require a $605.00 refundable deposit.  If a promoter wishes to leave or is denied membership, their deposit will be returned less any money owed for balances from events the promoter has already run.  When a promoter puts on a series event they are required to pay $2 per rider, (at this time) which is used to pay for series awards, prizes, supplies, mailing of fliers and overhead costs.

We have open meetings and welcome all questions. Because of this structure, all cards to SMRA members are FREE.
